I’d love for you to get to know a little more about me, so here are 10 random facts to get the ball rolling!
- I was born in England and my family moved to Canada when I was 3. Majority of my relatives still live in the UK, and it feels like a 2nd home to me whenever I visit. I also LOVE rainy days, and I think that’s because it’s in my DNA 😉
- I have a background in nutrition, gerontology (the study of aging), naturopathic medicine, and functional medicine. I’ve always been super passionate about healthand wellness, and am extra passionate about fertility and helping mamas-to-be prepare to conceive and have the sweet little baby they are hoping for!
- As you might guess, I’m a bit of a health nut… I love finding and creating recipes that are healthier alternatives to regular treats, that still taste amazing (aka you don’t feel like you’re sacrificing).
- Our 1st “baby” is a morkie named Georgia Blue
- Our beautiful daughter – Mikki – is the one who inspired me to start this adventure! She’s the
weetest and most feisty little peanut all wrapped into one. She keeps us on our toes and makes us laugh every single day. Mikki is equal parts English, Scottish, Japanese, and Polish. We see all those sides of her come out in the best ways each day. - I met my husband, Callum, in grad school. We went to the same University as well but didn’t know each other despite having mutual friends!
- Growing up I was a tomboy, but now I’m as girly as they come..
- I have a few favourite mantras that I love and live by ~ “Throw kindness around like confetti” is one of my all time faves, along with “make your own luck” and “fight your corner”. I also love the saying for Mikki “And though she be but little she is fierce”.
- My favourite movie is the Blind Side. I adore the determination and grit the lead character (Leigh Anne Tuohy/Sandra Bullock) has, and the message behind the story. It’s so uplifting and inspiring to me, without having to think too hard while watching it!
- I am far from perfect, and love to learn and reflect every day. I try to take time to appreciate the little (big) things in my life because it keeps me in check. I regularly express my inner gratitude for things like being able to walk, see, love, receive love, and live no matter what the circumstances. It doesn’t mean that my gratitude doesn’t get tested sometimes, but I think being grateful as a foundation is the key to everyday happiness. The grass is always greener where you water it, right? 🙂
